Another Newsletter Comic!
No one got my joke about business continuity, so I didn't publish it. I liked the flow of the comic, though, so I salvaged some of it for my starbucks comic below. | | Tuesday, January 24th, 2006 | 9:33 pm [nonzerovector]

Company Newsletter I have a new comic in our company newsletter. I'm going to call it "The Utility" or "Utility Infielders" ...

For the first time ever, I've actually got a Sharkblog entry myself! My friend Stu runs a regular (updates 3 times a week) web comic over at http://suppository.originalsinstudios.com/strip/ but for today's update I'm filling in with a guest strip. It's not much, but at least it's something. All the other stuff I've been drawing is for a video game design another friend is working on. I'm helping out doing character designs. Maybe I'll post something from that effort someday. Current Mood: accomplished | | Sunday, October 2nd, 2005 | 12:56 pm [mildmannered]

Another Attempted Mouse Murder This is the third of three posts about trying to kill a mouse in my apartment. It could all be the same mouse. Who knows. Anyway, just wanted to share... the descriptions and illustrations were orignally from emails to my girlfriend. Hope someone enjoys them! ... There's a mouse in my house. It clearly lives in my oven, so I put bowls and lids and whatever I could find on top of the stove to contain it. Well, it turns out the mouse is tiny and very cute and loves to play in the clear plastic bowl that I set up on one of the front burners. Now, I never wanted to hurt this mouse, but I do kind of want it dead, because it already ruined two loaves of my bread and has been pooping all over the place. So, I thought it would be pretty kind to just turn the gas on and give it a peaceful death. I guess though, because of the lids, the gas accumulated pretty quick and without me trying the stove lit up. The mouse didn't die and ran back into the oven, but I could smell the very gross burned mouse smell and we were both very scared. Please see attached illustrations. | 12:05 am [ryanayana]

Attempted Mouse Murder This happened a while ago... Last night I had another adventure with my mouse. At about 2am it was crawling around near my sink while I was working on the comics project. It noticed that I noticed and stopped. I could tell that it was considering running back to the stove (it's home). But after I waited without moving for a couple moments, it decided to go check out my sponge. Little did the mouse know that I had a strategy. When it got further away from the stove, I jumped up, grabbed the big lid to my wok, ready to trap him. So, I was now between him and the stove. He tried to run past me, and I had planned to capture him with the wok lid, but out of reflex, I tried to grab him with my bare hand (apparently I was a cat or an eagle in a former life). Actually, that is a lie. I did try to grab it so much as actually fling the mouse. I took a scooping swing and the mouse went flying into the dishrack. Once again I though I might have killed it. BUT, after a moment of being stunned, the mouse got back up. Nowhere to go but down, the brave mouse jumped off the counter(!) and ran for the behind the cabinet under that has the toaster on it. He was foiled, however, as my wok lid came crashing down on him. I don't know how I did it, the room was very dark, but I captured the mouse. Well, almost, and not really. You see, after a half a second of feeling of victory, I realized that I had pinned down the mouse. He was being crushed by the lid and squeaking furiously. My heart truly loving all animals, I had to let him go. He quickly darted behind the counter and round two was over. Current Mood: morose | | Friday, July 8th, 2005 | 11:33 pm [ryanayana]

Mouse Murder Hi Sharks, I hope you're all well. The events above are true. I'm not proud of what I've done. In fact, I'm hoping that he/she is still alive. The blood was exaggerated and the body was respectfully laid to rest in an outside trash can. So, it's possible, I suppose. Current Mood: morose | | Thursday, June 9th, 2005 | 3:16 pm [tim_mallos]

Opportunity!
I just discovered www.comixpress.com and the potential for their services just blows my mind. Inexpensive printing for low-print-run comics!!! If this venture is even a little bit profitable this person will make a killing over time, given all us small-time artists. I priced out a couple scenarios using their online calculator and the price comes out cheaper than using Kinkos. I wonder what the quality's like... Something strange is going on with my website; i'm unable to update it right now, i have to call the hosting company. also, for those folks without a website to call their own (ie. you, mr. bender), www.photobucket.com provides free hosting of images for auctions, avatars, etc. perfect for hosting updates to ol' sketchblog.
